BSA or Birmingham Small Arms Company is a British manufacturer and distributor of motorcycles and at one point of time was the largest motorcycle producer in the world. Poor investments and loss of sales led to lot of problems for BSA. The first BSA motorcycle was manufactured in 1910 and was sold at affordable prices. It delivered reasonable performance with reliable machinery and had ample availability of spare parts. Initially BSA manufactured military motorcycles and bikes for developing countries with Yamaha’s engines but under the BSA name.
In 1991 BSA merged with Andover Norton International Ltd., and started the production of spare parts of existing motorcycles. Three years later, in 1994 BSA was taken over by BSA Regal Group and now manufactures a number of limited edition, retro styled motorcycles. Some of the models of BSA motorcycles are BSA 500 SS Gold Star, BSA 500 SS Gold Star, BSA A 50 Royal Star, BSA A 65 Lightning, BSA A 65 SS Firebird, BSA A 65 Thunderbolt, BSA A 75 Rocket 3, BSA B 25 Star, BSA B 44 Shooting Star and BSA Fury 350.
