Bultaco was purchased in 1998 by Sherco Moto S.A.R.L. It was then named Bultaco Sherco and in 2000 it was changed to Sherco by Bultaco and finally in 2001 Bultaco name was dropped all together. As long as Bultaco was manufactured it met with enormous success since it was fast, reliable, had good brakes and suspension, was inexpensive in most countries, gave extraordinary mileage and was very appealing to sporting riders but unfortunately due to the industrial unrest and market pressure Bultaco motorcycles was finally shut down in 1983.
